2nd Elementary School Students' Ichikawa Local Karuta Tournament

About this event

This tournament aims to help children deepen their understanding of their local heritage and nurture love for the community among residents of Ichikawa through 'Ichikawa Kyodo Karuta', which features themes from Ichikawa City's history, culture, famous spots, nature, and notable figures. At the event, competitive karuta guidance will be provided by alumni of the Waseda University Karuta Club and Ichikawa Gakuen Competitive Karuta Club, making it accessible and enjoyable even for beginners. Since the venue has wooden flooring, bringing a cushion (zabuton) or mat is required. Applications for participation have reached capacity and are now closed, but spectator viewing on the day of the event is welcome.
