About this event
The Autumn Grand Festival of Iikoka Hachimangu Shrine is held during the harvest moon (Jugoya). The main highlight is the Mikoshi Togyosai (portable shrine procession), where 5 mikoshi parade through the town. In 2026, the Mikoshi Togyosai will take place on Friday, September 25, followed by the shrine departure (miyadashi), town transfer, and shrine return within the grounds on Sunday, September 27. The mikoshi departure will begin around 9:30 AM, all 5 mikoshi will gather in front of the worship hall from around 1:00 PM for the town transfer, and the return within the shrine grounds will be held from around 5:10 PM to 7:30 PM. Times may vary slightly. We pray that this year's festival can be held as usual without disruptions from typhoons or COVID-19.
