Japanese name:晩なしコンテスト

📅 Tue, Sep 15, 2026

📍 Kamagaya, Chiba

About this event

The "Late-Harvest Pear Contest" organized by the Kamagaya City Pear Growers Association will be held. Late-harvest pears, harvested when the summer heat subsides, include varieties such as "Akizuki," "Kaori," and "Niitaka," which are characterized by their larger fruit size compared to Kosui and Hosui pears. At this contest, these late-harvest pears will be judged, bringing together an impressive collection of large-sized pears. Judging takes place from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by sales starting at 11:00 AM. Available for purchase are 3-kilogram boxes (award-winning pears) for 2,000 yen, and bags containing an assortment of various cultivars for 1,000 yen. Award-winning pears are sold in boxed sets, while the others are assortments of multiple varieties weighing 2 kilograms or more, offering great value. Because the quantity per variety varies depending on the number of entries, buyers can choose their preferred combination. Numbered admission tickets will be distributed starting at 9:00 AM.
