Exciting Library Festival 2026

Kamagaya Municipal Library is hosting the "Exciting Library Festival 2026" for the first time in a year. Centered around children, a variety of events will be held, filling the library with lively energy all day long. In the rest room on the 3rd floor of the main building, special festival storytimes will take place: a storytime by "Ohanashi no Tsubasa" (10:00-10:30), a mini storytime by junior librarians (11:00-11:30), and the Wakaba Storytime by storytelling volunteers (14:00-14:20). Furthermore, festival activity areas will be set up in the meeting room and childcare room on the 3rd floor from 9:30 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00, where visitors can enjoy craft corners featuring "Bookmark Making" (morning) and "Pop-up Picture Book Making" (afternoon), available while supplies last. The game corner will host "Treasure Fishing," "Target Shooting," and a "Book Arranging Game" open to children up to elementary school age, with prizes awarded to successful players. A ticket is required to participate in games and will be distributed to those who borrow books starting Saturday, August 22. In the children's section on the 2nd floor, "Aim! The Path to Book Master," a treasure-map-and-clue-based book search, will be held for elementary school students and their guardians. It is limited to 5 pairs per session and requires advance registration, with telephone reservations starting at the main library at 10:00 on Wednesday, September 2. In the general section on the 1st floor, "Reading BINGO!" will be held from 9:30 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 15:00, offering a gift to participants who borrow designated books and achieve two bingos. At the merchandise booth, chiffon cakes and smoked nuts will be on sale starting at 9:30 until sold out. Kamagaya City's mascot character "Kamatan" will also visit the library from 11:30 to 12:00. On the day, parking and bicycle parking on the library grounds will be partially restricted, so please park your bicycles in designated areas.
