About this event
Held at Yachimata City Central Public Hall, the 69th Yachimata Citizen's Cultural Festival is an event celebrating the autumn of arts, bringing together works by local cultural groups, elementary, junior high, and high school students in one place. In addition to exhibitions of works across a wide range of fields such as calligraphy, painting, photography, handicrafts, crafts, tanka poetry, and flower arrangement (ikebana), casual tea ceremonies will be held on November 1 and 2. On November 2 in particular, a special collaboration between flute, taishogoto (Nagoya harp), shamisen, and the tea ceremony seating is scheduled. Furthermore, an ikebana workshop will also be held on November 3, giving participants an opportunity to experience the arts. Registration for the exhibition section starts on September 14, and from this year, it is open to elementary school students and older. In addition, on October 11, a performing arts section presentation will be held featuring traditional folk songs (minyo), ginei recitation, dance, magic, and karaoke, showcasing a diverse array of performances. Participants for the shogi tournament are also being accepted, with prior application required. This cultural festival aims to celebrate the creativity and expressiveness of each citizen and contribute to the cultural promotion of the entire community.
