About this event

The Tomisato City Cultural Festival 'Tomichan Autumn Festival 2026' is an event where groups and individuals active in the city present the results of their daily activities as part of the 'Tomisato Energetic Town Declaration.' In the exhibition section, visitors can enjoy flower arrangement (ikebana), picture letters (etegami), calligraphy, ceramics, handicrafts, ink wash painting (suibokuga), posters, and a UNESCO panel exhibition. In the presentation section, performing arts presentations will take place, including chorus, hula dancing, tai chi, dance, jazz orchestra, frailty prevention exercises, and shibu sword/fan dance. In the event section, Japanese tea ceremony experiences (Omotesenke, Urasenke), a shogi tournament, and a Go tournament will be held, with participation fees varying depending on the content. Furthermore, workshops that both adults and children can enjoy are planned, such as making thick sushi rolls (futomaki), icing cookies, aroma soap bubbles, wooden craft activities, iron beads, melty cream soap, miniature dish painting, and obi sash brooches. In addition, a string quartet concert by Chiba Symphony Orchestra—the only professional orchestra in Chiba Prefecture—titled 'Autumn Melodies Explored by Chiba Symphony Orchestra Members' String Quartet' will also be held, offering a program that can be enjoyed by a wide range of generations, from classical masterpieces to movie and anime music.
