About this event
This is a rakugo (traditional comic storytelling) show you can casually enjoy before lunchtime. This session features the futatsume-rank performer Shunputei Shiji. Born in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo, Shunputei Shiji apprenticed under Shunputei Hyakuei in June 2017 and became a zenza (opening act) in September 2018. He was promoted to futatsume in November 2022 and took the name Daiei. In March 2025, he changed his name to Shiji, and in April 2026, he won the runner-up Grand Prix in the rakugo division of the 5th Primo Art Competition, making him a highly anticipated rakugo performer. Depending on congestion on the day, standing room only may be available if seats are full, but admission is free. Advance reservations are not required, so please feel free to drop by.
