About this event
The '14th Abiko Wadaiko Festival,' bringing together Japanese taiko drumming teams from inside and outside Abiko City, will be held at Kohokudai Central Park on Sunday, November 8, 2026. Originating as a support event for recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, this festival offers energetic Japanese taiko drum performances, circle dances (wa-odori), stalls by shops from within and outside the city, and seafood sales. The event is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM and end at 3:20 PM, with free admission. In case of rain, it will be held in the gymnasium of Kohokudai Higashi Elementary School. Numerous groups, including Akatsuki Wadaiko Club, Abiko Kappa Ondo Preservation Society, Abiko Kappa Daiko, and ABIKO Soran Asuka-gumi, will perform powerful drumming. It is an event where you can feel the powerful resonance of Japanese drums and the vibrancy of the local community.
