Running in the Reiwa Era: Blue-Green Joban Line Train Photo Session

As a pre-event commemorating the 130th anniversary of the Joban Line's opening, the 'Running in the Reiwa Era: Blue-Green Joban Line Train Photo Session' will be held at Matsudo Rolling Stock Base in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture. This event offers a rare opportunity to see and photograph side-by-side three train models—the E501 series, E231 series, and E233 series—adorned with the Joban Line's iconic blue-green stripes. In particular, the E501 series K704 trainset belonging to Katsuta Rolling Stock Base and the E231 and E233 series belonging to Matsudo Rolling Stock Base are scheduled to be displayed. Furthermore, a logo headmark produced in celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Joban Line's opening will be unveiled for the first time, serving as a highlight for commemorative photos. The event will be held over 2 days on Tuesday, October 27 and Wednesday, October 28, 2026, with 2 sessions per day and 60 minutes of photography time per session. Participation is limited to those aged 18 and older, and the participation fee is 20,000 yen per person. Applications are accepted via 'JRE MALL Tickets' from 12:30 on Monday, September 28, 2026, until 12:00 on Friday, October 23. The venue is about a 25-minute walk from the South Exit of Abiko Station, or about a 20-minute walk from Tennodai Station. On the day, both a smartphone for reservation confirmation and an official photo ID are required. Due to train operation circumstances, the displayed trainsets may change, but cancellations and refunds are not permitted, so please thoroughly check your scheduled date and time of participation.
