The "Tokyo Curry Expo 2026" is a curry festival held from September 11 (Fri) to October 7 (Wed), 2026, at a special venue in Shinjuku Ward Okubo Park. Forty-eight curry shops from across Japan gather to offer a diverse range of curries, from authentic biryani and dosa to "Rah-Curry," a new genre utilizing ramen shop broths. Renowned restaurants across various genres, including establishments selected for Tabelog's Top 100 Restaurants, will appear on a daily rotating basis. The event operates on a food-ticket system in 200-yen increments, allowing visitors to create new ways to enjoy curry, such as combining multiple curries to make their own "aigake" (mixed curry plate). Nine official ambassadors, including curry researchers, will share details on each shop's specialties, dish backgrounds, and tips on how to enjoy the event, bringing excitement to the festival. Admission is free, but food and beverages require separate payment.
