20th Youth Festival - Shitamachi-ko Matsuri

About this event

Organized by Taito City, the 20th Youth Festival - Shitamachi-ko Matsuri will be held to promote the healthy development of youth. Operated in cooperation with the ward's 11 youth development district committees and student volunteers, the event features handmade game corners such as target shooting and bouncy ball scooping, as well as food stalls serving yakisoba, shaved ice, and more. Visitors can also enjoy stage performances such as musical shows and cheerleading by elementary and junior high school students. The venue is the outdoor stage and surrounding area of Ueno Onshi Park, and the event will proceed in light rain. Because of the warm season, visitors are advised to take proper precautions against heatstroke. As heavy crowds are expected within the venue, caution is required when traveling by bicycle. The festival is expected to draw many visitors as an event where one can experience the authentic, close-knit local shitamachi downtown atmosphere.
