About this event
In October 2026, marking three years since the start of Israel's attacks on Gaza following the October 2023 cross-border attack on Israel by armed groups in Gaza, a symposium will be held to examine the "Current Situation in Palestine." Although a ceasefire was reached in Gaza in October 2025, Israeli attacks and blockades on Gaza have continued, creating a tragic situation where 80% of infrastructure has been destroyed and over 70,000 civilians have been killed, 20,000 of whom are children. Meanwhile, in the West Bank, Israeli military incursions and attacks by Jewish settlers on Palestinian towns and villages continue, with mass displacement of residents occurring in the north. Marking three years of attacks on Gaza and one year since the ceasefire, researchers, journalists, and aid workers who have engaged with Palestine will report on and discuss the situation in Gaza and the West Bank from their respective viewpoints. This symposium offers a valuable opportunity to gain a deep understanding of the current conditions in Gaza and the West Bank.
