The annual autumn festival, Hikawadai Hikawa Shrine Autumn Grand Festival, will be held at Hikawadai Hikawa Shrine in Nerima Ward, Tokyo. Expressing gratitude to Susanoo-no-Mikoto and praying for good health for shrine parishioners and worshippers, bountiful harvests, and peace in the local community, this event is a deeply loved and homely local gathering. During the festival period, majestic floats (dashi), children's portable shrines (kodomo mikoshi) carried with heartfelt effort, and adult portable shrines (otona mikoshi) will parade through the neighborhood. Numerous food and game stalls will also be set up to entertain visitors. It is a festival full of tradition and vibrancy where the entire community comes together. A karaoke contest will also be held as an eve-festival celebration to foster local interaction. On the main day, a ceremony will be held before the deity where local representatives pray for the good health and peace of community residents. Please note that parking and bicycle parking areas will not be provided as the shrine is undergoing reconstruction work during the Autumn Grand Festival.
