About this event

As part of the "Nerima Walking Tour" series held in Nerima Ward, the "B: Jomon Festival and Fujimi Pond Course" will be held. On this course, participants will observe Nishikigoi (brocade carp) at Fujimi Pond in Musashiseki Park, and then visit the Shimonoya Ruins, a National Historic Site. At the Shimonoya Ruins, participants can try their hand at crafting magatama (curved beads) and fire-making as part of a hands-on Jomon period experience event. The course departs from below the stairs at the South Exit of Musashiseki Station, passes in front of Honryu-ji Temple, the cherry blossoms along the Shakujii River, and the Waseda University Equestrian Ground, heads to the Shimonoya Ruins (the festival venue), passes through the Waseda University Higashi-Fushimi Campus and the DyDo Drinco Ice Arena, and disperses at the South Exit of Higashi-Fushimi Station. Led by a guide, participants will walk a route of approximately 3.5 km while exploring the history and nature of Nerima. The participation fee is 500 yen (including materials and insurance), to be paid to the guide on the day. Capacity is limited to 15 people, with a lottery held if applications exceed capacity. The application deadline is Friday, September 4 (must arrive by this date).
