About this event

The "Astronomical Photo Exhibition" will be held at the Konica Minolta Science Dome (Hachioji City Children's Science Museum) from Saturday, July 18, to Monday, August 31, 2026. This is an exhibition event where visitors can view authentic astronomical photographs taken by members of the Hachioji Astronomical Club. You can view vivid photographs showing aspects of the universe that are normally difficult to see in detail with the naked eye, such as total lunar eclipses, comets, nebulae, star clusters, and solar system celestial bodies. Numerous beautiful and striking photographs unique to club members who possess specialized astronomical observation knowledge and techniques will be on display. The exhibition content allows intuitive visual learning about the expanse of the universe and celestial wonders, serving as an educational opportunity for visitors to encounter basic astronomical knowledge and deepen their understanding of outer space. For children, viewing photographs of beautiful starry skies and rare celestial bodies provides a great opportunity to deepen interest and curiosity in space and science. For adults as well, the celestial images captured using advanced photography techniques are extremely rewarding to view and stimulate intellectual curiosity. The exhibition is held in a special corner on the 1st floor of the Children's Science Museum and can be freely viewed with just the facility admission fee. No advance application is required and visitors can come directly on the day, making it easy to drop by during summer vacation outings or alongside the science museum's other exhibits.
