64th Mitaka City Agricultural Festival

This event allows visitors to appreciate the importance of local agriculture and deepen their understanding of urban farming through exhibitions, sales, and quality competitions for agricultural and livestock products produced in Mitaka City. Highlights include a treasure ship (takarabune) display crafted from vegetables, direct sales of farm and livestock products, and food stalls using produce grown in Mitaka. Competitions evaluating vegetables and fruits grown in community gardens and home plots, along with a showcase for rare and unusually shaped vegetables, will also be featured. Direct sales of items exhibited in the produce competition and "Takara-wake"—the free distribution of vegetables from the treasure ship—will also take place. The JA Tokyo Musashi Mitaka District Youth Division will sell "Mu-chan Croquettes," while the Women's Division will sell baked donuts. In addition, the Mitaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry will run food stalls, and local Mitaka specialties such as vegetables, eggs, kiwifruit, ginkgo nuts, and honey will be on sale. Stage events include the 6th Farming Four Seasons Contest award ceremony, a Women's Division entertainment show, Mitaka-bayashi festival music, an agricultural landscape painting award ceremony, as well as brass band and dance performances.
