Japanese name:秘伝の忍者食『親子で兵糧丸(ひょうろうがん)作り in 東久留米』
📅 Sun, Oct 25, 2026
About this event
This is a hands-on event for parents and children to make "Hyorogan," a highly functional survival food of Sengoku-era ninja. Participants will try making "Hyorogan" based on traditional recipes from ninjutsu texts supervised by Professor Emeritus Makoto Hisamatsu and Professor Yuji Yamada of Mie University. In the event, a lecture about Hyorogan will be held first, followed by the actual cooking of Hyorogan. This is an opportunity for parents and children to experience Japanese traditional culture and learn while experiencing food. The event is open to children aged 4 through elementary and junior high school students, with up to 1 guardian per participating child. The capacity for each session is 10 pairs (20 participants) of parents and children on a first-come, first-served basis. The application deadline is Sunday, October 18, 2026.
