About this event
"Learning Forest LINK FOREST Summer Festival" is a free hands-on event themed around telecommunications, science, and disaster prevention, held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at LINK FOREST (3-5-3 Tsurumaki, Tama City, Tokyo). It runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with final admission at 3:00 PM. This event offers a diverse range of programs where local residents and children can learn while having fun. There are abundant opportunities to learn about disaster preparedness, including festival stalls and kitchen cars (food trucks), displays of disaster response vehicles, an earthquake simulation vehicle, pump truck riding experiences, fire extinguisher practice, and commemorative photo opportunities in firefighter uniforms. Inside the venue, visitors can also enjoy classic festival corners such as target shooting, Senbonkuji lottery, AR games, and programming experiences (the Minecraft workshop for elementary school students operates on a same-day numbered ticket system). In addition, you can try convenient uses of generative AI and camera features using the latest smartphones. On the day of the event, the usually paid KDDI MUSEUM and KDDI ART GALLERY will also be open free of charge, allowing visitors to view exhibits tracing the history of telecommunications as well as approximately 80 works of Japanese painting, Western painting, and glass crafts. Furthermore, the limited-time puzzle-solving program "Radio Detective Club 2" can be enjoyed. While some workshops require advance booking, most programs can be joined for free. It is an ideal event for making summer vacation memories and finding themes for independent school projects.
