Japanese name:第34回 日本山岳耐久レース(24時間以内)〜長谷川恒男Cup
📅 Sun, Oct 11, 2026 - Mon, Oct 12, 2026
About this event
Covering a 71.5 km mountain course in Okutama within 24 hours, the Japan Mountain Endurance Race (Hasetsune Cup) marks its 34th edition this year. It is a race where runners challenge their own limits and build strong bodies amidst the rich, beautiful nature of Okutama. With only one aid station in a limited environment, runners must tackle the race entirely under self-responsibility. At the Itsukaichi Junior High School schoolyard, a new initiative will also be implemented to live-stream videos of runners' progress and location information during the race. Founded in honor of Tsuneo Hasegawa, who achieved the world's first solo winter ascent of the three great north faces of the European Alps, this event aims to contribute to athletes' improvement and the development of trail running as a sport. Participants will experience an extraordinary journey, where anyone running through the finish corridor becomes a hero or heroine. Conservation activities will also be conducted to express gratitude and respect for Okutama's grand nature so that it can be preserved for the future. Special titles and medals are awarded to finishers completing the race 10, 20, and 30 times in total.
