About this event

Held annually in Okutama Town, the 'Okutama Local Performing Arts Festival' is a valuable opportunity where the region's rich traditional performing arts gather under one roof. Twenty local performing arts, including lion dances (shishimai), will be performed. A major highlight is that for the first time in 31 years, 17 genres of the town's local performing arts (12 lion dances, 2 hayashi music performances, 1 kagura dance, 1 kuruma ningyo puppet performance, and 1 kashima odori dance) will come together in one place. This festival allows attendees to experience Okutama's history and culture firsthand, making it a special experience not only for local residents but also for visitors.
