About this event
As an early autumn tradition, the Daimon-dori Shopping Street Association hosts the 'Daimon-dori Bonbori Market' in conjunction with the Bonbori Festival at Hiratsuka Hachimangu Shrine. In this event, in addition to the night market, paper lanterns (bonbori) decorating streetlights and candles placed at foot level create a sense of unity with Hiratsuka Hachimangu Shrine, which is divided by National Route 1, evoking the scenic atmosphere of a shrine approach. Paper lanterns painted by local children are also displayed, spreading out a magical approach of light. Festival stalls featuring super ball scooping, traditional penny candy (dagashi) shops, and more will be held, with local shops uniting to liven up the town. It is a lively night market where you can rediscover the charm of the town just by taking a stroll.
