Shonan Candle 2026

About this event

Magically illuminating the autumn night of Shonan with approximately 10,000 candles, 'Shonan Candle 2026' will be held from Saturday, October 10 to Tuesday (national holiday), November 3, 2026, centering around Enoshima Samuel Cocking Garden and Enoshima Sea Candle. For 25 days on one of Japan's largest scales, Enoshima is wrapped in gentle light. The world of light, preserved by each candle being individually lit and extinguished by local volunteers and staff, is created through the connections among many people. This year, a collaboration project celebrating the release of the final theatrical anime in the series, 'Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend,' will also be held, featuring original candles as well as gifts of original goods for visitors. Interactive events can also be enjoyed, such as candle cup painting workshops and upcycled handmade candle workshops that reuse candles from past events. In addition, diverse 'viewing and listening' events will be held, including a slide show by photographer Noriyuki Ichikawa, a cappella stage performances, Balinese dance at Enoshima Shrine, and FILM BRASS performances. A pre-event will also take place just before the festival begins at Sun Pearl Plaza by Fujisawa Station North Exit, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere ahead of time.
