'Kamakura Petit Rock Festival' is an 'unplugged outdoor live music festival' that started in 2014. It was born from the desire to offer a place where people can experience music itself more purely and up close, rather than as branded consumer culture, and to deepen many people's interest in music. At this festival, various artists, regardless of fame, perform unplugged live sets in their respective spots. Going unplugged is not for saving electricity, but out of the intention to let people listen to great performances as closely as possible. With no stages or fences set up, it is designed so that listeners can step closer and feel the music even if it's hard to hear from afar. While everyone engages with music differently, singing and playing instruments is one way to express oneself. Rather than solely aiming to become a professional, the organizers want to spread the option of simply enjoying music, especially to children. It carries the wish for people to experience the joy of music alone or with friends. This festival continues with the aim of one day making Kamakura a town flourishing with music. The venue is Yuigahama Seaside Park, where visitors can enjoy live music while feeling the sea breeze. With free admission, anyone—such as locals taking walks, music lovers, tourists, and children—can casually drop by and encounter live music. Sponsoring food, drink, and merchandise stalls will also be present at the venue, allowing visitors to enjoy food, drinks, and shopping alongside the music.
