About this event

Kamakura Takigi Noh, a traditional performing art boasting a long history second only to Nara and Kyoto, will be performed on Friday, October 9, 2026, on a specially erected Noh stage on the grounds of Kamakura-gu Shrine. Under the moonlight, amidst the gentle breeze, insect sounds, and the crackle of burning firewood, spectators are invited into a world of yugen (profound grace and subtlety). This year's program features the Konparu school's suutai (unaccompanied chanting) 'Okina' and Noh play 'Kurozuka', alongside the Izumi school's Kyogen play 'Shimizu'. On a mystical stage illuminated by bonfire light, you can enjoy a special autumn night experience unique to the ancient capital of Kamakura. In case of rain, the Main Hall of Kamakura Performing Arts Center will serve as the alternative venue. Tickets are 12,000 yen for S seats, 9,000 yen for A seats, and 7,000 yen for B seats (all tax included), scheduled to go on sale starting Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
