Fireside Storytelling Gathering
Japanese name:いろりばたのおはなし会
📅 Sun, Oct 25, 2026
About this event
A storytelling gathering to listen to folktales will be held by the hearth (irori) in the Former Kitajima Residence at the Folk House Garden. Through unassisted oral storytelling without picture books or props, inside a traditional folk house preserving its historic appearance, visitors can enjoy stories such as Japan's "Kachi-kachi Yama," India's "One Grain of Rice," and Sagami's "Deirabocchi." It is an event where anyone from adults to children can easily participate and experience the world of traditional storytelling.
