46th Matsuda Tourism Festival & 25th Ashigara Fireworks Display

Jointly hosted by Matsuda Town and Kaisei Town in Kanagawa Prefecture, the "46th Matsuda Tourism Festival & 25th Ashigara Fireworks Display" will be held at the Sakawa River Townspeople Water Park on Saturday, August 22, 2026 (Reiwa 8). Stage events will begin at the festival venue at 16:00, featuring pre-events, a ceremony, Bon Odori dancing, and the Hyakuhattsubi lighting ceremony at 19:00. The grand finale will be the 25th Ashigara Fireworks Display starting at 20:00, where approximately 1,300 fireworks will illuminate the night sky. Paid seating and paid parking tickets are also on sale for the fireworks display, allowing visitors to enjoy the fireworks comfortably without worrying about securing a spot. The Matsuda Tourism Festival will be lively with stage events and Bon Odori competitions, and many stalls are scheduled to open at the plaza. Fireworks can be viewed up close from both banks of the Sakawa River riverbed, with colorful lights such as launched fireworks and starmines coloring the night sky. In case of rain, it will be postponed to the following day.
