About this event

The Yugawara Onsen Offshore Fireworks Display is a fireworks event held every summer that marks the grand finale of Yugawara Town's largest event, the "Yassa Festival." In 2026, it was initially scheduled for Monday, August 3, but was postponed to Sunday, August 23 due to the impact of a typhoon. Approximately 2,000 fireworks will colorfully illuminate the summer night sky, allowing visitors to enjoy a powerful light show featuring large-diameter shells (shakudama) and underwater starmines. Launched against the backdrop of the sea, the fireworks creating reflections on the water's surface also produce a magical atmosphere. Because they are launched from a close distance to the viewing area, you can feel their power even more intensely. Relaxing in the nutrient-rich waters of Yugawara Onsen after watching the fireworks is another unique way to enjoy this hot spring resort.
