Japanese name:水引のストラップを作ろう!
📅 Fri, Aug 21, 2026 - Tue, Aug 25, 2026
About this event
This is a workshop in Hakone where participants can experience making a strap using traditional Japanese mizuhiki cord. Using mizuhiki, which has long been used for Hakone Shrine amulets and gift envelopes, you will create your own original strap. Aimed at 3rd to 6th grade elementary school students, guardians may also accompany them. You can participate at an affordable price of 300 yen including material costs and insurance, making it a great opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture. It is held in the learning room of the Hakone Town Historical Museum, with good access just a 5-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Capacity is limited to the first 15 applicants and requires advance registration.
