Tsukigata Street Performance Festival

About this event

One of the prefecture's premier street performance events, where popular performers from all over the country showcase diverse acts across the venue. This year, a total of 12 performing groups will gather in Tsukigata, featuring a wide variety of street performers. In addition to street performance acts on the day, traditional "Kakubei Jishi Dance" performances are planned; the Tsukigata Shopping Street will become a pedestrian paradise featuring street performer acts, a fresh produce direct sale market, Tsukigata Taiko drumming, and Yosakoi dance. Furthermore, performances of the "Kakubei Jishi Dance," a Niigata City-designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property, will be held at the Tsukigata Rural Environment Improvement Center. In case of light rain, the event will proceed normally; in case of heavy rain or stormy weather, the main venue will move to the Tsukigata Junior High School Gymnasium.
