About this event
As the autumn venue for the illumination event "Ojiya Hotaru 2026: OJIYA HOTARU illumination" held in Ojiya City, it will take place at the lawn square on the summit of Yamamotoyama. Approximately 13,000 "Pet-botaru®" solar LED lights will be used to create fantastical light displays reminiscent of the Milky Way and terraced rice paddies. This event began as an effort to express gratitude for the recovery from the Chuetsu Earthquake and to pray for recovery from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. The Pet-botaru® lights previously used in "Shiroyone Senmaida: Azeno Kirameki" in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, have been received and illuminated with prayers for reconstruction. It is a community-wide participatory event that lights up hope for a bright future 10 and 20 years ahead in Ojiya. Because the paths to the venue and surrounding areas are dark, bringing flashlights or similar lighting is recommended.
