About this event
The Nagaoka City Nishikigoi Show, boasting the "longest history in the world," will be held in Yamakoshi, the birthplace of Nishikigoi. This year, new special awards will be established to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the Nagaoka municipal system and the 10th anniversary of its designation as a Japan Agricultural Heritage System. Around 350 high-quality Nagaoka-bred Nishikigoi will be exhibited at the venue, competing in beauty and quality. General viewing of the show is scheduled from 12:00 to 15:00. In addition, popular food and beverage stalls will be set up, offering local gourmet specialties. The food stalls will operate from 10:00 to 15:00. The venue is the parking lot in front of the Nagaoka City Yamakoshi Branch Office. Admission is free. *Due to the impact of torrential rain on August 8, a section of Prefectural Route 23 is closed; please use the route via Ojiya City (National Route 291) when visiting.
