About this event

Co-organized by Toyama Prefecture and Namerikawa City, the "Children's Opinion Exchange Meeting" will be held for elementary and junior high school students who carry the future to exchange views with the Governor and the Mayor. The purpose of this exchange meeting is to create an opportunity to listen to children's voices in order to reflect their opinions in policy. On the day, 14 fifth and sixth graders and 10 junior high school students will participate to express their opinions regarding matters related to "important rights for children" as well as their dreams and things they want to challenge. The Governor and the Mayor will provide comments on these opinions. The session will proceed with an opening, greetings by the Governor and Mayor, opinion presentation (Theme A), comments by the Governor and Mayor, a break, opinion presentation (Theme B), comments by the Governor and Mayor, closing, and a commemorative photo. For media coverage, consent from both parents/guardians and the participants themselves is required if conducting individual interviews or photography with the participating children.
