About this event
Held on August 23 (Sun), 2026 next to the Yamada Watch Shop at the Owari-cho Intersection in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, the 4th Anyato Festival is a summer event packed with family-friendly entertainment including local food stalls, Bon Odori dancing, a night bubble show, and traditional festival experiences. Stalls serving delicious Owari-cho gourmet will be set up, and Bon Odori dancing such as Anyato-bushi will be performed around the central wooden tower (yagura). Visitors can also enjoy a night bubble show, comedy stage performances, target shooting, and yo-yo balloon fishing. A presentation and awards ceremony for The Shop I Want to Open in Owari-cho, the Merchant Town, conceived by 6th graders from Kanazawa University Elementary School, will also take place. Furthermore, limited edition paper fans will be given away to the first 1,000 visitors, making it a perfect day to create summer memories. The night bubble show, featuring illuminated soap bubbles floating in the night sky, offers a magical visual experience distinct from daytime. The Anyato Omikuji fortune slips, co-created by Kanazawa University students and local shops and featuring unique fortunes themed around the merchant town, are also a highlight. Dispensed from a gacha capsule toy machine, they can be enjoyed together by parents and children. Traditional festival stalls with shaved ice, shooting galleries, and yo-yo scooping are prepared so that even small children can participate safely. A variety of stalls spanning Taiwanese cuisine, traditional sweets shops, small-plate Chinese dishes, and Spanish bars will also be lined up, making it ideal for families to sample little by little and discover their favorites.
