Japanese name:令和8年度 武田八幡宮例大祭
📅 Mon, Oct 12, 2026
About this event
The Reiwa 8 (2026) Annual Grand Festival will be held at Takeda Hachimangu Shrine, which has long been revered as the tutelary deity of the Takeda clan. Giving thanks for bountiful crops and harvest, this festival is a traditional event featuring kagura sacred dance dedications and a mikoshi (portable shrine) procession. Furthermore, modern programs are also prepared to entertain visitors, including kitchen car food trucks, the distribution of limited-edition grand festival goshuin stamps (pre-written sheets only, available while supplies last), and an exploration mission where participants explore the shrine grounds to find answers. At the Kagura Hall, sacred dances will be dedicated by the Takeda Hachimangu Kagura Troupe, while festival ceremonies and the portable shrine procession will take place at the worship hall. Free amazake (sweet fermented rice drink) will also be served (in limited quantities), offering a chance to simultaneously experience the traditions of an ancient shrine and the lively atmosphere of a local festival.
