Chippubetsu Halloween Station 2026

About this event

"Chippubetsu Halloween Station," a regular autumn event held in front of Chippubetsu Station in Hokkaido, is scheduled to be held again in 2026. Themed around Halloween, the station area is decorated with about 7,000 pumpkins, offering a beautiful sight at night with the fantastical lighting of pumpkin lanterns. The event provides a variety of food and experiences, including sales of fresh vegetables by local farmers and freshly harvested rice from Chippubetsu, pumpkin-themed workshops, and stalls from as many as 11 food trucks. For railway enthusiasts, sales of railway goods, exhibitions of precious railway parts, and N-scale model train operating sessions are also conducted, making it popular with families and train fans. Stage events include brass band performances, a railway picture-story show (kamishibai), and a rice cake scatter (from 16:20), enchanting many visitors as a local autumn tradition. With JR Rumoi Main Line Chippubetsu Station set to be discontinued in March 2026, it is also drawing attention as the final grand festival themed around the railway.
