Japanese name:巨石と展望の山「守屋山」に登ろう!登山イベント
📅 Sun, Sep 27, 2026
About this event
A hiking event to enjoy megaliths and panoramic views will be held at Mount Moriya, standing at an altitude of 1,651 meters at the northernmost point of the Southern Alps. From the summit, a 360-degree grand panorama stretches out over the Japan Alps, the Yatsugatake Mountains, Lake Suwa, and more, offering beautiful seasonal scenery. In this event, a Southern Alps Geopark certified guide will accompany the group to provide easy-to-understand explanations about unique megaliths scattered along the trail—such as Kameishi (Turtle Rock) and Juji-iwa (Cross Rock)—as well as how they were formed, regional history, and the workings of nature. The planned route ascends from the Tateishi Trailhead, passes via the East Peak and West Peak, and descends to the Tsuetsuki Pass Trailhead; because the trail is easy to walk, beginners and families with children can participate with peace of mind. A minibus shuttle is also provided from the meeting location to the trailhead, ensuring convenient access. In pleasant autumn weather, this hiking event allows participants to fully appreciate the charms of Mount Moriya while experiencing natural beauty and local legends.
