The jazz festival 'Madarao Jazz 2026' will be held, echoing across the lush greenery of Madarao Kogen. Marking its 18th edition this year, 24 bands and a total of 250 jazz players from all over the country will gather to let their passionate sounds resonate across Madarao Kogen, known as the 'mecca of open-air jazz.' In the open location of the refreshing plateau at an elevation of 1,000 meters, you can surrender yourself to the pleasant tones of jazz played from a special stage on the lawn carpet of Madarao Kogen Ski Resort. On the lawn area, you can bring picnic mats or small tents to enjoy the music with a picnic atmosphere. Families, couples, or solo visitors can all easily drop by. Inside the venue, tents and food trucks serving food and drinks made with plenty of local ingredients will open, allowing you to fully enjoy local flavors. In the bar lounge, you can also spend luxurious time with wine or beer in hand. This music event representing Northern Shinshu is expected to attract over 3,000 visitors.
