G.M.C Bicycle Hill Climb

About this event

"G.M.C (Gachi de, Madarao, Challenge - Seriously Challenge Madarao)" is the 1st bicycle hill climb competition held on Madarao Mountain Resort (Madarao Kogen) in Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture. Cutting through the crisp autumn breeze, participants challenge an 8.2km course of continuous climbing. Your competitors are both the runner beside you and your past self. On the day of the competition, the "MADARAO AUTUMN MARCHE" will be held simultaneously, allowing participants to spend relaxing time in the cool highland after working up a sweat. The capacity is 50 participants, with entry registration starting on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The course uses Nagano Prefectural Route 97 Iiyama Madarao Arai Line, featuring an 8.2km climbing distance and an average gradient of 6.6%. It is organized by the GMC Executive Committee and the Madarao Kogen Tourism Association.
