Held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at JR Iiyama Station and surrounding areas, the "Iiyama Station Festival: Railway Fest with Shin'etsu Shizenkyo" is a popular event enjoyed by both children and adults. The venue features exciting programs such as the "Iiyama Station Train Exploration Squad," a gathering of "working vehicles," and the "Iiyama Station Word Rally." In addition, visitors can enjoy local delicacies at the "Traditional Craft Experience" and the station-front market "PARKS." Furthermore, the event is packed with full-day entertainment including control room job presentations, a railroad crossing exhibit, stationmaster uniform dress-up experiences for kids, sales of train parts and railway merchandise, coloring page displays by local children along the Iiyama Line, the Oykot Marche, the Mobile Library (Picture Book Marche in Iiyama; canceled in case of rain), toy train displays, "Play in the Forest!" craft classes, and musical performances by local schools.
