About this event

Organized by the Kiso Region Cultural Heritage Revitalization Council, the 'Japan Heritage Kisoji Summit in Kiso Town' aims to utilize the story of Japan Heritage Kisoji to promote the Kiso region domestically and internationally, while fostering momentum among local residents for utilizing Japan Heritage. Marking its 4th edition this year, the summit will feature a keynote lecture and panel discussion themed on the traditional food of the Kiso region. In Part 1, Kan Wada (Former Representative Director of Iwatake Resort Co., Ltd. / Co-Representative of Zukutochie Co., Ltd.) will give a lecture titled 'Creating Stay-based Tourism Regions Utilizing Local Food Culture (Tentative).' In Part 2, under the theme 'Tourism Utilization of Food Culture for Next-Generation Succession (Tentative),' Kan Wada, local instructors related to food in the Kiso region, and representatives from municipalities composing the Japan Heritage will take the stage as panelists to deepen discussions alongside commentators from the Cultural and Historical Resources Utilization Promotion Office, Tourism Resources Division, Tourism Regional Promotion Department of the Japan Tourism Agency. This event, which serves as a valuable opportunity to think about the region's future, can accommodate up to 600 participants and is free to attend. It will be an excellent opportunity to rediscover the charm of local food culture and think about sustainable tourism region building.
