About this event
On August 1, 1906 (Meiji 39), Hozumi Station opened on the National Railways (now JR) Tokaido Main Line. In 1956 (Showa 31), marking the milestone of the 50th anniversary of Hozumi Station's opening, the 'Steam Train Festival' (Kisha Matsuri) began to celebrate the development of the former Hozumi Town. Celebrating its 68th edition this year, this festival has become a summer tradition in Mizuho City. In addition to stage events, a bingo tournament with luxurious prizes, numerous food stalls, and food trucks, the area around the venue will be filled with excitement over two nights. Please stay well-hydrated and take thorough heatstroke prevention measures to enjoy summer to the fullest at the Steam Train Festival!
