Shizuoka in the Age of Dinosaurs
Japanese name:恐竜時代の静岡
📅 Wed, Jul 8, 2026 - Sun, Aug 30, 2026
About this event
Dinosaur fossils have been discovered across various parts of Japan, including Hokkaido and Fukui Prefecture, but so far no dinosaur fossils have been found in Shizuoka Prefecture. This event introduces fossils and rocks from Shizuoka dating back to the Mesozoic Era (Jurassic to Cretaceous periods), exploring mysteries such as why dinosaur fossils have not been found and whether there is a possibility they might be discovered someday. Featuring a full-body skeleton replica of a Stegosaurus, the exhibition allows visitors to feel the romance hidden in Mesozoic Shizuoka. Held during the summer vacation period, the exhibition offers content enjoyable for both children and adults.
