About this event
"2026 Nagashi Somen / Summer Water Festival II," held at Okazaki Shizen Taiken no Mori in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, is a hands-on event to fully enjoy summer nature. Participants will try making flowing somen noodle flumes out of bamboo, and can sample somen noodles after completion. Participants are required to bring clothes that can get dirty and work gloves. Combining bamboo crafting with summer delicacies, this event is a perfect activity for families. It will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 9:30 to 12:00. In case of rain, it will be canceled. Participation is limited to 10 families, with fees of 500 yen for adults, 300 yen for elementary school students, and free for preschoolers. Application was by lottery via the website, with the application period from Wednesday, July 1 to Wednesday, July 15.
