Organized by the Okazaki City Tourism Association, "September 2026: Rice Harvesting & Traditional Farming Experience" is a popular event where parents and children can experience rice cultivation through traditional methods. From paddling (shirokaki) and planting to harvesting, this is a valuable experience conducted in touch with nature without the use of machinery. You can enter the rice paddy barefoot and enjoy encountering various living creatures. Rice harvesting will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, with Sunday the 20th as a backup day in case of rain. The capacity is 15 families, and the participation fee is 500 yen per family. The hours are 9:30 to 12:00, held at Okazaki Nature Experience Forest in Okazaki City. Required belongings include clothes and socks that can get dirty, a change of clothes, work gloves, a towel, drinks, and rain boots. This event is a great opportunity to enjoy the fun of farming and nature experiences, which have become rare in modern times, with family and friends.
