About this event
The 'Sakurabashi Moon-Waiting Gathering' will be held at Sakura-jo Bridge (Sakurabashi) in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, to view the Harvest Moon. Watching the beautiful moon rise in the eastern sky at sunset, visitors can spend time in their own way—eating tsukimi dango (moon-viewing dumplings), enjoying moon-viewing sake, or just quietly admiring the moon. Talks about the moon by staff from the Okazaki Hoshi to Asobukai, as well as live video of the moon through astronomical telescopes, are also planned. This event provides an opportunity to feel the rhythms of nature and refresh, aiming to revive in modern times the traditional culture of people gathering to await moonrise and enjoy the evening. Precisely because the modern world is flooded with artificial light, it aims to create and establish an 'Enjoy Star Culture' where people share rich moments quietly admiring the moon, feeling the power of stars, and surrendering to the rhythms of nature. Why not invite friends and acquaintances to spend a moving and enriching moment? Participation is free. However, if the moon cannot be seen due to weather conditions on the day, the event may be cancelled without prior notice. As it is held at night, please watch your step, and children should be accompanied by a guardian.
