Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games Flame Lighting Event
Japanese name:愛知・名古屋2026アジアパラ競技大会採火イベント
📅 Sun, Oct 11, 2026
About this event
Ahead of the 5th Asian Para Games (2026/Aichi-Nagoya), a flame-lighting event will be held in Hekinan City. In this event, a sacred ritual will take place at the Bishamondo of Myofuku-ji Temple—which enshrines Bishamonten, known as the god of victory—to gather the sacred flame for the Asian Para Games and place it into a lantern. In anticipation of the Asian Para Games held from Sunday, October 18, to Saturday, October 24, 2026, the sacred flame will be born from the land of Hekinan. On this rare occasion, please turn your attention to the flame-lighting event where tradition rooted in the region and anticipation for the Games come together. Viewing is open to all, but entering the inside of the Bishamondo hall is not permitted.
