The "19th Obu City Health Walking Event," announced on the official Obu City website, will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2026. Start check-in is open from 8:20 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and the final goal check-in closes at 11:30 a.m. The venue is Yokone Multipurpose Ground (check-in and start point), with the goal set at Yokone Community Center. Participants can choose between a Long Course (7 km, taking about 1 hour and 45 minutes) and a Short Course (4 km, taking about 1 hour) according to their fitness level. The Long Course departs from Yokone Multipurpose Ground, passes through Sumiike Park and Futatsuike Seletona, and finishes at Yokone Community Center. The Short Course departs from Yokone Multipurpose Ground, passes through Futatsuike Seletona, and finishes at Yokone Community Center. No prior application is required; please come directly to the venue during the start check-in time on the day of the event. Participation is free. Attendees must bring clothes suitable for exercise and drinks for hydration. The event will be cancelled in case of rain, and status updates can be checked on the official city website. As commemorative gifts, an Obu-chan face towel will be given to the first 800 finishers, a different gift will be given to preschool children, and bottled natural water (provided by Sugi Pharmacy Co., Ltd.; while supplies last) will be provided. In addition, a stamp rally will be held simultaneously as a fun activity; collect stamps along the walking course to enter a raffle for commemorative prizes. Sweet amazake will also be served at the goal (with the cooperation of the Obu City Health and Dietary Education Promotion Council; while supplies last). Parking is available at the Medias Gymnasium Obu parking lot, but spaces are limited. Because no water stations are set up at the venue or rest spots, participants must bring their own drinks for hydration. Injuries or accidents during the event will be covered within the scope of the "Obu City Fureai System."
