2026 Taketoyo Town Citizen Culture Festival

Held at Taketoyo Town Citizen Hall (Yumetaro Plaza), the "2026 Taketoyo Town Citizen Culture Festival" is an event to showcase the achievements of town residents' cultural activities and deepen community interaction. Along with art exhibitions, experiential workshops such as tea ceremonies, go, flower arrangement (ikebana), and tole painting will be held concurrently. In particular, individual entries are welcomed, providing a prime opportunity to showcase everyday hobby achievements and proud creations. Exhibition categories cover a wide range including American tole painting, ikebana, illustrated postcards (etegami), oshie padded fabric pictures, pressed flowers, obi tying, paintings, glass crafts, photography, handicrafts, calligraphy, watercolor paintings, ink wash paintings, torn paper collage (chigiri-e), digital art, haiku, fabric crafts, and bonsai. The event is open to junior high school students and older who live, study, or work in the town, or engage in cultural activities within the town. Artwork delivery will take place on October 29 and 30, and cleanup will be on November 1. In addition, a Town Citizen Go Tournament and a Town Citizen Haiku Contest will be held, each with designated entry fees and application procedures. The main culture festival will take place from October 31 to November 1, with the opening ceremony held from 9:45 AM on October 31. Tea ceremonies will be held on both days, and experiential workshops can also be enjoyed.
