About this event
The annual autumn "Environmental Fureai Festa" will be held again this year. This year's event features programs to learn about and experience waste reduction, centered around food loss reduction. In a special lecture titled "Food and Life Discovered in Antarctica: No Waste, Delicious, and Mottainai" by Junko Watanuki, a former Antarctic chef, participants will learn practical household wisdom and approaches to dealing with food loss (first 70 applicants, advance registration required). At the "Aozora Reuse Marche" flea market, up to 36 stalls will open, offering a great chance to find bargains. Through the garbage truck ride and driving experience, visitors can explore inside the waste processing facility, which is normally closed to the public. Other activities include an environmental study class by Suntory Group on PET bottle recycling, the "Kaekko Bazaar" to exchange unused toys, a "Toy Hospital" for toy repairs, a food drive, and resource collection events for small household appliances, lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, and down/feather products. Packed with content, it offers a fun opportunity for families to learn about the environment together.
