About this event

Kishiwada Danjiri Festival is a festival boasting over 300 years of history and tradition, originating in the mid-Edo period as an Inari festival praying for bountiful grain harvests. This festival has been passed down and nurtured to this day by local residents. During the day, you can enjoy the delicate yet dynamic pulling of danjiri floats, and at night, their gorgeous appearance adorned with beautiful lanterns. The festival unfolding in an atmospheric town retaining traces of a castle town captivates onlookers. Trial pulling is an important opportunity to make final adjustments to the danjiri ahead of the main festival, allowing you to experience the intensity of the festival in advance. The pulling schedule is from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, and Friday, September 18. At this trial pulling, you can see the highlights of the festival up close, such as the danjiri 'yarimawashi' (sharp turns at full speed).
